Qualifications and Experience:

  • Min 5 years experience ideally 10 yrs + in similar role. MRICS qualification as Building Surveyor, degree educated.
  • Experience in residential contracts management, and managing a team of people.
  • Highly motivated, good business management skills, personable.Entrepreneurial, ambition to succeed.
  • Good communication and client facing skills.
  • Good business contacts and ability to win new business.

Job Spec

  • To manage day to day running of contracts, must have previous experience of running contracts, both main contracts and sub-contracts.
  • To attend client meetings and be the main point of client contact for those contracts that are run.
  • To ensure that all contracts are run as efficiently and profitably as possible. The candidate will be in charge of managing at least 3 foreman/ contracts simoultaneously, each foreman will generally be in charge of approximately 5 to 10 tradesmen.
  • To liaise with and source sub-contractors for each of the various contracts, and to negotiate the work entailed for each sub-contract and to ensure that each of the sub-contractors carries out all of their required work and performs.
  • To put together specifications for sub-contracts. To carry out periodic valuations of work done and to submit invoices for payment to client/ contract administrator.
  • To source and order bespoke materials, and deal with specialist subcontractors. To ensure sites are compliant with Health and Safety and liaise with our health and safety consultants.
  • To liaise with architects, structural engineers, building inspectors, clients and other appointed professionals for each of the main contracts.
  • To agree new contracts, to carry out and price for new tenders. To price and agree extras to contracts as required by clients.

This position offers carreer progression in a young and rapidly growing company. Using existing and new contacts you will branch out and grow new business within public sector work, private property companies and new build residential work. There is the scope for rapid career progression to progress the role and in due course to head up several contracts managers each in turn running several contracts. This role has huge potential and whilst working alongside the managing director, you will play an important role in the continued growth of this rapidly expanding company
